Springboard Innovation will be teaching two new programs beginning this
fall. The first course will be at Pactific University in January 2009.
The second will be a community-based Local Agenda program in rural Oregon.
The goals are to provide authentic learning situations for the students;
and, provide the community-based launchers in the Local Agenda program
some support for their efforts. The two groups of learners will work together
on community projects, providing each group

Skoll Foundation's eNewsletter
once again highlights Challenge and Change
After two years of teen-led community projects initiated across America,
the Skoll Foundation updates readers on the program in their eNewsletter.
And, due to continued funding from the
USDA, rural communities
across
the country
will continue to see teenage girls take on local challenges with innovative
solutions they designed while engaged in the five-day leadership training.
LITC developed the program in 2005 in partnership with the Girl Scouts
of the USA.
Susan Cippoletti, Program Manager for Girl Scouts in Rural Communities
who manages the implementation of the program, reports, "The
girls work in partnership with local leaders to develop sustainable
projects which benefit the
community as a whole.
The best
part of my
job is meeting
many girls from across the country before they begin their training,
and then a year later meeting them again as young social entrepreneurs
making
a difference."
